Andrea & Elisabetta

Andrea and Elisabetta are from Calabria. Today they live in Genoa and work in medicine, but to get married they came back home.

They chose Borgo del Convento in Petrizzi, to me the most evocative venue in the area: a former monastery from 1492, founded by Francesco Marino da Zumpano and cared for by the Corapi family for centuries. Next to it stands the “church without a roof”: its roof collapsed in the 1783 earthquake, and ever since, weddings have been celebrated within its stone walls, under the open sky.
