Giusy & Jordan

Giusy has Apulian roots, Jordan is French. They live in France, but to get married they came back here, to the land of her family.

The ceremony took place in the church of Santa Maria di Barsento, standing alone on a hill among olive trees, halfway between Noci, Alberobello and Putignano. An ancient, quiet place that even filmmakers have chosen as a set.

Before the bride arrived, I filmed the waiting: guests arriving, curious about the couple and about such a unique place. It's one of the parts of the film I'm most attached to.

It was high summer, and hot. Then, just as they walked out of the church, the rain came. Giusy and Jordan met it with a smile, even during the few minutes of their couple portraits.

The celebration went on at Masseria Papaperta, among 18th-century trulli and dry-stone walls, in the heart of the Apulian countryside.
