Marco & Marie

Marco is from Rome, Marie is from the Philippines. Two distant worlds, and a love that learned to travel early on. For their wedding they chose travel as the thread running through the day: passport-shaped invitations and tables named after cities around the world, from Tokyo to Rhodes.

We met at Agriturismo La Melazza in Cesano, in the countryside north of Rome: a family-run farm estate in the green of the Due Laghi Regional Park, among tall poplars and string lights that come on at sunset.

The ceremony, civil and symbolic, was the heart of the day: their vows, two colours of sand poured together, the faces of the people closest to them. In moments like these you understand that a wedding is, above all, a family holding each other close. Behind the camera, I was moved like few other times.

Then the celebration: a bonfire under the stars, dancing on the lawn, and the feeling, for both of them, of finally being home.
